President - Melanie Howard-Cerase
Has been a Mini Farm resident since 2008. Her family moved from Miami Dade County to Citrus County for a better way of life. Melanie is currently employed by Citrus County School District and has been an educator for the past 29 years. This is her 4th year serving on the Mini Farm’s Board of Directors and the 2nd year as serving as the President. Melanie’s term on the board will expire in 2019.
Vice-President Jon Payne
Has lived in the mini farms for 24 years and is married with two sons one 21 and the other 18. Jon recently retired from the Citrus County Sheriff’s office after 20 years of service. While employed at the Sheriffs office he held several positions Partol Deputy, K-9 Deputy, Community Deputy, Detective and School resource officer at both elementary and midddle schools in Inverness. While he worked as a patrol Deputy Jon was assigned to the patrol zone that cover the mini farms and patrolled the mini farms for several years. Jon’s (3) year term on the board is up in 2020 and he is looking forward to serving longer.
Treasurer - Dan Mckee
Has been a property owner in the Mini Farms since 2013. I am a transplant from the North/East portion of the country and moved to the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida to enjoy the nature and lifestyle that the area has to offer. I was appointed to the Board in 2018 to fill a vacancy on the Board, my term expires in 2020. Educationally, I have a degree in Criminal Justice and one in Public Administration, worked for the government for 35 years before retiring. While new to this Board, I bring with me 8 years of experience, several as the President, of a Board in New Jersey responsible for over 75 million dollars’ worth of property. This is my Home now and fully expect to be here for the rest of my life, so while I may not have the history here that some have, this is my future!
Secretary - Judy Cahill
We bought this property in August 1979 vacationed off and on from Ft. Lauderdale, where we resided, and finally moved up to Last Chance Lane in 1996. I left a cleaning business which I operated for 10 years. In February of 1997 I became employed by Pine Ridge Golf Course as a cart girl. In 1998 I became office manager and in 2000 became the General Manager and stayed manager until 2009 when the course was sold. I have been involved with clubs and associations for the past 18 years. Secretary for 10 years for one.
I have been married for 52 years. My husband and I have two sons and five grandchildren. I was born in Ohio and my husband in Oklahoma . We lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 30 years where I worked for the City of Oakland Park, then opened a hard core gym, then opened by cleaning business. I was chairperson for the boys scouts troop 419 for 4 years. Organized and ran the Broward County Special Olympics charity ball in 1980.
We have attended many of the mini farm association meetings and was also an alternate director and in July 2018 I was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy whose term expires in 2019. Over the years I have agreed and disagreed with some of the issues. But until you get involved personally, you do not understand what is involved with the road maintenance and keeping the people happy. Just remember WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS HERE TO HELP EACH OTHER. LETS SUPPORT EACH OTHER.
